20 talented Manitobans compete in the FINALS for 5 prizes of a professional studio recording, as cweedband.com wraps up its first annual 2010 Manitoba Star Attraction Talent Showcase. In conjunction with the Star Attraction sites found across the province, and sponsored by Manitoba Culture, Heritage & Tourism, Homecoming 2010, Travel Manitoba, The Forks, South Beach Casino & Resort, Fort Dauphin and Jim Gauthier Chev Olds, two prelimenary Talent Showcases were held in July at Manitoba's newest Star Attraction sites, Fort Dauphin, Dauphin, and South Beach Casino & Resort, Scanterbury in which 10 contestants from each Talent Showcase were selected to compete on Aug.1st at Manitoba's most popular Star Attraction site - The Forks! Come out to support Manitoba's true natural resource - our artists! Special performances by the C-Weed Band, Ashley Robertson, and Desiree Dorion.

The top 10 winners of each showcase will advance
to the competition Finals, which will be held on:
Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Scotia Bank Stage
at The Forks in Winnipeg.
(All Applicants/Contestants MUST be available to compete at the Finals)
To be considered for an invitation to perform at the 2010 Manitoba Star
Attractions Talent Showcase, you must currently live in Manitoba, and have
never had a professional recording of your music. Visit www.cweedband.com
for an application form and send in accompanied by:
▲The name of the song and artist name of the song you will be singing, and if an original song, an amateur recording via DVD, CD or MP3 wave file of the song (IF you want the back up band to learn the song for the contest day). If not, just the name of the song is fine.
▲ Short biography of the performer applying
▲ Photograph of the performer/performers (they need not be professional photos - cell phone photo or Facebook photo is fine!

Closing date for applications: July 13, 2010 - no exceptions.

Each SHOWCASE to be no more than 20 persons.
Selection process based on artist profile, artist genre,
originality, target groups and artistic merit.
