And the winners of the 2010 Manitoba Star Attraction Talent Showcase Finals, which was held at The Forks, Wpg., on Sun., Aug.1, 2010 are:

Larry Guimond from Sagkeeng, MB
Rheanne from Winnipeg, MB
You Be the Anchor (Ryan Giesbrecht, 20 & Wouter Gorter, 21) from Steinbach, MB
These 5 winners will now have the opportunity to record a song in a professional recording studio (Strongfront Production), of which they will be be handed the master for their own use and distribution, and will be part of a compilation cd scheduled for release this fall 2010.
Winners were selected from 20 finalists who gave them a run for their money! Thank you very much to all contestants who entered the 1st annual Manitoba Star Attraction Talent Showcase. cweedband.com looks forward to seeing you, and many other talented contestants next summer!

cweedband.com Ltd. is very proud to announce a long awaited C-Weed Band Greatest Hits CD so befittingly entitled "Magic in the Music"! The collection of beloved C-Weed songs was released on May 21, 2010!
The new cd is dedicated to the C-Weed Band 35 year (1975-2010) anniversary, and is entitled "Magic in the Music". The cd includes 13 hit songs from C-Weed Band recording sessions that span 35 years.
The 2 current founding members of the C-Weed Band, Errol Ranville (songwriter, acoustic guitar and lead vocals) and Don Ranville (drummer) are pictured on the front cover of this long awaited hits package and these two founding members will be charged with carrying this torch into the future.

It is with great disappointment that cweedband.com Ltd. must announce that the proposed television series "Magic in the Music" has been declined by the programming selection committee at APTN.
For the 67 artists/musicians whom we had spoken to during the development stage about appearing in "Magic in the Music" television show, we would still like to hear from you and discuss future possibilities. All cweedband.com contacts are on this site.
For the 39 communities that so graciously offered to host the "Magic in the
Music" shows, we thank you so very much and we will be contacting all of you in the weeks to come to discuss the possibility of bringing the C-Weed Band concert to your community this summer and fall, anyway.

The loss of a great friend and brother..Year One..

In Memorium:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of (Gerald) Brian Ranville on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, brother and best friend. Brian was a co-founder of the C-Weed Band whose tireless marketing work and steadfast beliefs brought the C-Weed Band to a level of recognition that no one could surpass. Brian's love of his family was portrayed in everything that he endeavored throughout the years. We already miss Brian terribly - it was just too early. |
